Seattle Seahawks Reaching The Superbowl

By |

The news that Seahawks has been able to overcome suspensions and an injury so as to be able to reach the Super Bowl is doing the rounds these days. It comes as no major surprise that Seattle Seahawks are going to the Super Bowl in different ways. Prior to the start of the competition, Seahawks appeared to be the Super Bowl favorites and little happened to suggest otherwise.

Two Of The Best Teams

Irrespective of playing in the best division in football, the Seahawks appeared to finish regular season  with a record of 13-3 record. The feat was matched by the Denver Broncos.  Peyton Manning had a record breaking year.  It started in the first game with seven touchdown passes against the Baltimore Ravens and finished with 5477yards passing and 55 touchdowns.  The Broncos have the number one defense.

A Defensive Journey

It was on Match 11th, 2013 that the journey of Seattle began. It certainly was not the official beginning of the offseason. The same can be considered to be the first and foremost move that has been taken by the Seahawks coach Pete Carroll. Carol was also able to implement his desire of maximizing the defense.  Carol and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn moved six returning defensive players to new starting position.  This produced the number one defense and two playoff wins.

In the playoffs Seattle beat the New Orleans Saints and the San Francisco 49ers to meet Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl.  Malcom Smith came alive in the playoffs with 13 tackles and an interception.
